The Scuderi Engine will be the topic of two additional whitepapers being presented tomorrow at the Society of Automotive Engineers’ World Congress in Detroit.

The first paper,  “Scuderi Split-Cycle Engine:  Air-Hybrid Vehicle

Scuderi Group is exhibiting at this year's SAE World Congress

Powertrain Simulation Study” (paper no. 2012-01-1013), will be presented at 8:20 am in Room 02-33 inside the Cobo Center. Authored by Riccardo Meldolesi and Nicholas Badain of Southwest Research Institute, the paper covers the details and methods that were part of the European economy class simulation results that were announced last fall in Frankfurt.

The second paper, “Miller Cycle Application to the Scuderi Split-Cycle Engine (by Downsizing the Compressor Cylinder)” (paper no. 2012-01-0419), will be heard at 10:40 am in Room W2-65. Authored by David Branyon and Dean Simpson, also from Southwest Research Institute, the paper focuses on how the Scuderi Engine is able to increase power while at the same time decreasing fuel consumption when incorporating the Miller Cycle into its split-cycle arrangement.

These presentations will be the fourth papers in two years to be presented at the SAE World Congress. The first two given last year can be viewed online.
