It's been reported here time and time again and this week at the IAA commercial vehicle show in Hannover it's no different. We walk around the hall and wonder: Is all this "greening" of the vehicle industry just a public relations ploy?
Honestly, we hope not. The world does need a better way of being mobile. But the more we come through these events, the more it seems that suppliers, OEMs, and just about every other company promotes being green and clean just because they have to. You approach a booth and you are bombarded with the "green messaging" and their associated products. But at the end of the day, it's internal combustion engines that a ultimately relied upon to get the job done.
True, we are smack in the middle of this trend - or bubble as some may call it - and every business has to cater to buyers' demands and desires for more responsible solutions. But we hear some people wonder out loud: How are they going to be successful?
That's where the Scuderi Engine comes in. Speak privately to these engineers and they'll tell you that before we get to a world that runs on batteries, solar panels or wind generation, it's going to take a more efficient and less toxic internal combustion engine to get us there. And when you can potentially reduce fuel consumption and CO2 in half, as our Scuderi Engine studies tell us, the world will be a better place.
