Scuderi Group to Unveil Diesel Air-Hybrid Engine Design at SAE Commercial Vehicle Engineering Congress and Exhibition Oct. 31 - Nov. 2
Diesel Version of Breakthrough Engine to Provide Dramatic Cost, Power, and Environmental Benefits
WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Scuderi Group announced today that they will be demonstrating the benefits of their breakthrough Air-Hybrid commercial diesel engine next week at the SAE Commercial Vehicle Engineering Congress and Exhibition which takes place Oct. 31 to Nov. 2 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill. (Booth 531)
The design and performance of the Scuderi Air-Hybrid Engine – potentially the world’s most efficient internal combustion engine – has been verified by one of the world’s leading independent engine testing laboratories. The Scuderi Air-Hybrid design is particularly well-suited for diesel systems.
With even a more dramatic impact on diesel engines than on gasoline engines, Scuderi technology improves the performance of diesel engines and reduces their complexity and cost.

The first appearance of the Scuderi Group in the French market was an unqualified success.
Scuderi presented its breakthrough technology to major OEMs including Renault, Peugeot, Citroen and BMW France at the
Normandy Motor Meetings in Rouen, France on Oct. 4 & 5.
Scuderi also had the opportunity to talk to OEMs in the aerospace industry, including SNECMA, and major Tier 1 suppliers to the automotive industry that focus on engines and powertrains, including Magneti Marelli (a subsidiary of FIAT Italy).
Besides pre-scheduled meetings, there were several workshops focused on new technologies.
According to Scuderi executives, the reaction of all company representatives to Scuderi technology was uniformly positive, and follow-up meetings are planned.

September was a busy month for the Scuderi road crew, making exhibition and speaking engagement appearances in the U.S. and Germany.
During the weeks of Sept. 18 and Sept. 25, Scuderi was a featured exhibitor at the International Automobile Association’s Commercial Vehicle Show where the group debuted the
diesel designs. A massive two-week long event attended by automobile OEMs, engine enthusiasts, engineers, and the general public, the IAA allowed the Scuderi team to meet new people in the European auto industry and gain even more visibility to the diesel and commercial vehicle markets overseas.
"It was another successful show for us and enabled us to meet so many potential partners in the commercial vehicle industry in Europe,” said Nick Scuderi, vice president of global sales and marketing. “As with the other trade shows we have chose to exhibit at this year, we experienced a steady stream of interest every day of the event that helped us begin – as well as continue – some very key relationships we are building in that region."
Meanwhile, back in the U.S., Scuderi President Sal Scuderi gave a presentation to attendees of the Global Powertrain Conference held Sept. 20 at the expo center in the Detroit suburb of Novi, MI. Sal spoke to various auto engineers about the benefits of the air-hybrid engine in his presentation “Hybrid Efficiency with Super-Charged Power in a Low Cost Package” as part of the Advanced Propulsion Systems track.
Sal was originally invited to speak at the conference by JD Power, one of the conference organizers. Stay tuned for a video podcast of Sal’s presentation. We'll be posting a link here to the video soon.

Here's a calculator on hybridcars.com that allows you to compare the gas mileage and emissions levels of non-hybrid vehicles with those of today's electric hybrid models.
Open up the calculator in a new window by clicking here.
Keep in mind that the Scuderi Air-Hybrid Engine is estimated by third party independent research to double fuel efficiency and reduce emissions levels by 80 percent. (No batteries, either: See below).

Batteries, Parts Delay Hybrid Car Production
From
abcnews.go.com:
"The good news: The rising price of gasoline in the United States has made American car shoppers sit up and take notice of fuel-efficient hybrid gas-electric autos. The bad news: Carmakers still can't keep up with the demand...
One of the chief reasons is a limited supply of hybrid parts such as the rechargeable batteries and the computers that control the cars' dual electric and gas-powered motors.
Just a certain few companies have that capability to produce hybrid car technology," says Charlie Vogelheim, executive editor of the Kelley Blue Book auto price directory. "It all depends on those components and the lead time suppliers have to produce them..."
