Yep…...You are right; with the fuel prices increasing day by day; it’s natural that the administrations start demanding for further increase the minimum fuel mileage requirements. This also means that the automotive industry is gona face more and more pressure to improve the mileage records. Even though the figure now they demands seems quite high, I don’t think that it’s not impossible. With emerging technologies like the Scuderi Split-Cycle Engine which gains in efficiency over conventional four-stroke Otto cycle designs it doesn’t seems like an uphill task.

We really need to see "these engines" in working gas and diesel cars/trucks for the public to appreciate what the machines can do and to work out the "bugs" in any new invention.

I think industry attention on hybrids and batteries "sucks all the oxygen out of the room", so to speak, making it hard to get the attention of auto execs. But, bit by bit, they (Scuderi) seem to be making progress.

The time consuming research and development of this brand new combustion process is still at its genesis and will no doubt go on for decades. We learn new things just about ever week, which motivates our engineering team to continue pushing the technology to develop the most efficient combustion process possible under the split-cycle arrangement. While Scuderi's engineering team will eventually develop its own vehicle prototype, the first application powered by Scuderi -- whether stationary or mobile -- will likely come from sooner from an OEM, who will have their own timeframe and product strategy.

Scuderi Group plans to announce in the coming weeks the latest developments around advancements in its performance data.

Today's NYTimes points out that mileage requirements will be 47.75 MPG by 2020 for all Japanese cars and probably light-duty trucks. Shouldn't we hear something concrete from you regarding Sal's claim of easily attaining 50mpg at the get go? Since these regulations are expected to be put in place as early as Monday; what is Scuderi's time frame on placing the engine in a real car?
